Licensed Master Social Worker
We’ll work together to reveal the causes of whatever challenge you may be facing and identify the best strategies to help you get back to being yourself.
It’s important to take a moment to acknowledge how difficult it can be to take the first steps along the journey to therapy. But here you are! You’re doing the scary thing!
I believe the single most important factor in a therapeutic relationship is just that, the relationship. A client will not be able to engage, become vulnerable, and see positive changes within their life if they do not build trust and rapport with their therapist. Empowerment (seeing the client as the expert, master, and authority in their own life) allows the therapeutic relationship to blossom, but at the end of the day, clients know what is best for them. It is my responsibility to form a foundation by validating clients, providing knowledge, helping clients to process stressors and trauma, and empowering them to define their own goals and work toward them.
In therapy we’ll work together to reveal the causes of whatever challenge you may be facing and identify the best strategies to help you get back to being yourself. Whether it’s struggles with depression and anxiety; unhealthy family dynamics and need for boundaries; sexual or gender identity expression; low self esteem; complex traumas; or issues within school or the workplace: we’ll find the coping skills that best suit you and work to incorporate them into your day to day life.
Clients have described me as approachable, empathetic, funny, patient, and enthusiastic about my work. Therapy is about and for YOU, so we won’t be watering down the trauma, oppression, or struggles that exist just to make things comfortable. Let’s work together to achieve that best version of yourself.
