I view the counseling relationship as collaborative.

I operate from an existentialist perspective, meaning that I see my clients as the experts of their own life. My goal is to work together to explore new tools and perspectives that support your inherent ability to grow. I strongly believe that empowerment can come through reducing shame, recognizing strengths, practicing new behaviors within compassionate settings, establishing social networks, deconstructing systems of oppression, and encouraging curiosity. People view me as warm, authentic, inquisitive, and creative within my counseling practice.

I have a background in providing mental health support to queer adults; individuals who’ve experienced religious, medical, and childhood trauma; those with chronic illness, people with ADHD; and individuals with ASD. In my professional roles both a counselor and as an academic advisor, I’ve helped people navigate academic and career-based concerns such as academic/job accommodations and organizational strategies. I regularly consult with neurodivergent-affirming practitioners (mental health counselors, speech therapists, and occupational therapists) to learn more about contemporary strategies and community supports for neurodivergent individuals in Southeast Michigan.
