Ellen Floate
Limited License Mental Health Counselor
Do you sometimes feel like your negative self-talk or overthinking is taking over your life. If yes, I might be the therapist for you!
When working with clients, I focus on decreasing any shame or guilt you may have from past trauma, mental health issues or just from life being temporarily out of control. My goal as a therapist is to help you be able to love yourself, trust your instincts and be able to feel confident in the decisions you make for yourself. In addition, I work a lot of with clients on finding the patterns in their life that make the feel stuck and learning how to stop these patterns from continuing to occur. I currently have experience working with individuals who are experiencing anxiety, depression and past/current trauma. I as have experience working with couples on developing a deeper understanding of their partners and patterns in the relationship to help manage conflict. When working with me I will provide a welcoming, safe and nonjudgmental environment. I also currently work with couples who want to work on developing a better understanding of each other or re-spark their connection..

I received my master's degree in clinical Mental Health Counseling in March of 2024. Since graduating, I have been working in private practice with individuals and couples.
I work with individuals who are navigating depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, and working through life changes. I have also started to work with couples who are wanting to work on developing a new foundation in their relationships. I have also worked as a substance counselor for two years and still work with individuals who are working through their addiction or maintaining their recovery.
I am currently trained in EMDR, DBT, Level 1 and Level 2 of Gottman Couples Therapy. I am also informed in CBT and person-centered techniques.
