Rachel Bentley, therapist in MI, smiling with arms crossed against a plain white background.

We are all on a healing journey. Therapy is about having a guide as you navigate that journey. I will be your guide.

You know that feeling when you're living your life but it doesn't quite feel like your life? Maybe you're going through the motions, people-pleasing, or feeling disconnected from what really matters to you. Or perhaps you're in a relationship where you love each other but keep getting stuck in the same patterns, wondering how to get back to feeling truly connected and understood.

I get it—because I've been there too. As someone who's navigated my own journey of self-discovery, including my experience with bariatric surgery and coming into my authentic identity, I understand what it means to feel like parts of yourself have been hidden or pushed aside for too long.

Whether you're an individual ready to explore who you really are underneath all the expectations and protective strategies, or you're a couple wanting to show up more authentically with each other, I'm here to help you reconnect with your Self-energy—that place of courage, creativity, calm, and compassion that lives inside you.

My approach centers on the belief that you already have everything you need to heal.

Using Internal Family Systems as my primary framework, we'll get curious about the different parts of you—the ones that protect, the ones that negative beliefs about you, and the ones that hold your deepest wisdom. None of these parts are bad; they all developed for good reasons and all have gifts and talents. Let's access the gifts and talents of your parts.

Together, we'll create space for all parts of your identity to be welcomed and understood. As a queer therapist, I'm especially passionate about helping LGBTQ+ folks navigate the complexities of authentic living in a world that doesn't always make space for who we really are.

For couples, we'll explore how your individual parts show up in relationship and learn to lead from Self-energy so you can connect with curiosity and compassion instead of getting hijacked by protective patterns.

I also bring lived experience to supporting folks through the bariatric surgery process—having walked this path myself, I understand the unique emotional, relational, and identity shifts that come with this journey.

All people, couples, identities, and parts are welcome here.

My goal isn't to fix you—it's to help you remember who you've always been underneath the strategies you've developed to navigate a complex world. Through IFS /parts work, you'll develop the awareness and tools to heal yourself over time, accessing your own Self-leadership to create meaningful change in your life and relationships.

Ready to move forward in your healing journey? Let's explore what becomes possible when you lead from your truest Self.
